Poverty in the United States

Published by:

Today, the PayPal exchange rate for the US dollar has dropped to Php 41.01 (Huhuhu :( ). As much as I would like to say that it is Peso that has grown stronger, I am more convinced that the Dollar is just growing weaker and weaker everyday since last week.

It would have been nice if the rising Peso would have brought rollbacks in prices but unfortunately, it didn’t. Filipinos who earn from Foreign-based clients (like me) suffer from both the steady decline of the exchange rate and the ever increasing prices of commodities. I hope everything gets better soon despite the fact that the United States is still in crisis and there is also an increase in the number of Americans living in poverty.

Education: Are we being left behind?

Published by:

In public schools, one teacher has to deal with 55 to 60 students in a class. In addition to that, public school students don’t have enough books – they don’t even have enough chairs and classrooms. That being said, how can you expect majority of the public school students to REALLY learn?

Now aside from that, state universities and colleges (SUCs) got DRASTIC budget cuts. It went down from P23.8 billion to P23.4 billion this year and UP suffered the biggest budget cut of -P1.39 billion (20.11%). Now how will our supposedly prime university offer more scholarships and cater to poor Filipinos who have brilliant minds?

In general however, I recommend that you DO NOT get tight shoes – especially for your school-age kiddos. Here are some of the reasons why…

Aching Feet. Most of the time, we blame an hour of standing or walking for or aching feet but let me tell you that the true culprit are almost always the shoes that do not fit well. A tight footwear will always put more pressure to your skin and muscles especially if it the padding and cushion is not that thick.

According to some websites, dead sea salt has tons of therapeutic benefits. They say that if you soak yourself in water with dead sea salt, the minerals would be absorbed by the body and that will stimulate proper blood circulation.
