Preparing for Graduation

Published by Ellen Joy at 4:59 pm under How To

We have gone past the season of prom dresses and now, we’re on to that part of the year when graduation togas are best sellers.

This reminds me of the time when I almost DID NOT graduate from college on time. Why? Because I failed to submit my ‘Application for Graduation’ right away. It was a long story and I ended up debating with our college secretary because she won’t approve the letter I wrote for the Office of the Registrar. Apparently, I mentioned something that would put her staff in a bad light.

Anyway, let’s not go into details (because I can barely remember everything) and let me just give you some tips as you prepare for your own graduation.

  1. Make sure you have thoroughly checked what the REQUIREMENTS for graduation are and see to it that you have submitted or you will submit everything ON TIME. Typically, you will be required to submit an application for graduation, some permits, signatures of deans, professors, etc. and more.
  2. Check the fees that you would have to pay and give a list of it to your parents. Make sure you pay everything on time and keep the receipts.
  3. Check the scheduled time and date for your graduation and inform your parents, guardian, and other family members about it – ahead of time.
  4. Check the dress code so you would know if you’d still have to buy something for graduation and get a salon appointment if you want to.
  5. Make sure that your grades and your subject credits are really eligible for Graduation.
